St. Martin's Message Service
St. Martin's Cathedral is pleased to offer a messaging service for friends and family wanting to
send well wishes to their loved ones who are inpatients or residents at James Paton Hospital,
Lakeside Homes or one of the Senior's residences here in Gander.
Electronic messages are treated as private documents. When your message is received at our office , it is
printed and sealed for delivery to the person’s room. Please include the patient’s full first and last name in
the fields provided below. We will deliver the message as quickly as possible.
Please note this service is intended for Well Wishes only. Other communication, such as conducting personal business,
containing questionable content or soliciting business/vendor will be deleted without delivery. Since this message will not
be delivered over a secure connection, we recommend confidential items not be sent via this system.

About Pastoral Care and Chaplaincy
The Diocese of Central Newfoundland partners with parishes near all Regional Health Care Centers in
Central Newfoundland to ensure that ongoing pastoral care is provided to people when they are away
from their own parishes.
This is made possible through Grants given to participating parishes,which supplements the Salary of
additional personnel who will visit Hospitals and institutions on behalf of your parish Clergy.
St. Martin's Chaplaincy
Our Cathedral is a busy parish with many programs and a large group of caring people.
Here in Gander we are responsible (in addition to our own Pastoral Care programs) for Diocesan
Visitation and Chaplaincy to:

Lakeside Homes
Golden Legion Manor
Nightingale Manor
We believe that Pastoral Care and Chaplaincy constitutes much more than just visitation, so we
authentically offer ourselves for Counselling,Communion and Friendship. This requires a commitment
of time and we are blessed with a loving and caring staff.
