What Is a Cathedral?

St. Martin’s worship reflects our faithfulness in working to fulfil our mission statement :

The Purpose of St. Martin’s Cathedral is: To be a family of worshipping Christians; where the faith is taught –where people of all ages can grow in love and commitment to Christ in an atmosphere of caring, sharing, loving and respect for all persons; - where opportunity is provided for witness and service in the wider community.

Our worship provides a balanced respect for:
Anglican Tradition , Youth Culture, Younger Children and Families, always searching for the Unity and Grace of the Holy Spirit, and is highlighted by the extensive and faithful involvement of our lay people in every service.

A recent renovation to the Cathedral has allowed us to incorporate, the teaching and faith experience of our Sunday School into regular worship.

A Warm Welcome and a Cup of Tea awaits you at St. Martins!

Types of Worship:

Traditional Eucharist from the 1962 Canadian Book of Common Prayer : Held Every Sunday Morning at 8:30 a.m

Regular Evensong from the 1962 Canadian Book of Common Prayer

Regular Eucharist and Monthly Baptisms from the 1985 Canadian Book of Alternative Services

Occasional Morning Eucharist from the 1962 Canadian Book of Common Prayer :
When a month has five Sundays, we use the 10:30 a.m service for a traditional Matins or Prayer Book Eucharist.
The B.C.P Eucharist is generally sung using the Merbeck Setting

Regular Service known as “Evening Praise” in which St. Martin’s Praise Band and members of our congregation offer their talents of music in an informal worship setting.

Regular Morning Service known as Contemporary Worship in which the youth of our Church conduct the worship.
This service highlights the ministry of our Jr. Choir and our Youth Choir .
There is an excellent youth music program at St. Martin’s Led by Mr. Shawn Wiseman.

If you have a Child of any age interested in “learning from the best”, please come and join us!

The Choir: St. Martin’s Choir is comprised of a faithful group of joyful singers, under the leadership and direction of Mrs. Eileen Shepherd and Mrs. Una Joseph.

The choir extends an open invitation for new members to join!
